SKIN CARE TIPS FOR MEN: HOW YOU CAN GET RID OF YOUR DARK CIRCLES FAST

Remove dark circles under the eyes: home remedies and effective tips

There are many reasons for dark circles, such as dehydration, age, nicotine, lack of sleep, overexertion or diseases. For some people dark circles are occasionally an aesthetic problem, for others a permanent nuisance. We show you which home remedies you can use to remove or prevent dark circles. Read skin care routine.

Classic home remedy against dark circles: cucumber mask

Cucumber cools and soothes the skin and also provides it with fluid. The cucumber mask for the eyes goes easily:

1. Cut two slices from the cucumber.

2. Place one on each eye.

3. Relax like this for at least 10 minutes.

The blood vessels contract gently due to the moist coolness of the cucumber and the dark circles under the eyes become lighter. The active ingredients of the cucumber moisturize the skin and thus increase the tissue volume. Read skin care routine for dry skin.

Potatoes against dark circles under the eyes

Potatoes contain anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing substances, as well as bleaching agents. You have several possibilities to use potatoes against dark circles under eyes:

1. Grate a raw potato very finely and apply the mass to the lower eyelids. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and then remove it with lukewarm water.

2. Grate one raw potato and mix it with two tablespoons of water. Stir the mixture after a few minutes and dip a cloth in the potato water. Dab the potato water on your lower eyelids and remove it after about 15 minutes.

3. Mix a boiled, mashed potato with some cottage cheese and let the mixture cool in the refrigerator. Apply the cold mixture to your lower eyelids and let it soak in for about 15 minutes.

Caffeine promotes blood circulation

Caffeine stimulates blood circulation and has a skin tightening effect. It also causes the blood vessels to contract. Thus, it can alleviate dark circles comparatively quickly, but also has a long-term effect.

Caffeine promotes blood circulation

This is how you remove dark circles with caffeine:

Apply strong, cooled coffee directly to the dark circles by lightly tapping the liquid into them with your fingertips. Rinse off the coffee after about ten minutes.

Soak two makeup remover pads with coffee and place them on closed eyes for about 15 minutes.

Mix ground coffee with almond oil and leave the mixture overnight. Dab the oil without the coffee powder on the thin skin under your eyes and pat it in gently.

Compresses against dark circles

Besides cucumber, potatoes and caffeine, you can apply other compresses to remove dark circles:

Curd: Apply curd to a cloth and place it on your eye area. Leave the curd to work for about ten minutes.

Cold water: simple, but also effective: put some makeup remover pads in cold water and place them on your eyes.

Preferably no tea bags: It is often recommended to let used tea bags cool down and then place them on the eyes for ten to 15 minutes. However, there is a risk of an allergic reaction, so tea bags are not recommended home remedies for dark circles.

Preventive measures: Eat a varied diet

You can prevent dark circles by eating a varied diet. For example, the following foods, vitamins and trace elements help against dark circles:

Protein-rich foods, e.g. oatmeal and legumes.

Iron-rich foods, e.g. wheat bran, pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds.

Tip: For the body to better absorb iron, it should be combined with vitamin C. So a glass of orange juice or some fruit with dessert won't hurt.

Vitamin C can be useful not only as a means of transport for the iron, but is generally helpful in the fight against dark circles under the eyes. Those who are particularly pale should make more use of fruits and vegetables.

Less known is vitamin K, which is found in green leafy vegetables and cabbage and is responsible for blood clotting. It is a good agent for dark circles under the eyes.

An extra portion of zinc can help lighten dark circles under the eyes. Zinc is mainly found in nuts, whole grains, cheese, fish and meat.

In general, it's important to eat a balanced diet because deficiencies can cause dark circles under the eyes. To prevent the skin from drying out, you should also drink enough.

Increase your general well-being

Your general well-being plays a very important role in the development of dark circles. This is because they are particularly favored by stress, too little sleep and little exercise.

Relaxation: Try to consciously take breaks, go for short walks and simply close your eyes. If you are particularly stressed, you can also try special relaxation exercises.

Exercise: Move around as much as possible and do sports you enjoy - this stimulates blood flow and provides better oxygen and nutrient supply. If you sit at the computer a lot, regularly let your eyes wander around the room and out the window. Occasionally roll your eyes in all directions.

Sleep: Make sure you sleep no less than 7 hours a night. If that's not possible, try to take a power nap during the day.
