 Your daily skin care routine

Of course, we all know that a quick and balanced daily skin care routine routine is a good idea. But there are so many lotions and creams and advice.... Where to start?

And time is also important, of course: no one wants to spend hours in the bathroom. Don't worry, we've got it all figured out for you! From why you should use a toner to tips to make your routine as efficient as possible (three minutes? Yes please!). Read everything you need to know about skin care basics here so you know how to cleanse, refresh and prep your skin every morning and condition every night. Read skin care routine for dry skin .

Step 1: Cleanser

Start your skin care routine by cleansing your skin.

Even if you only have a few minutes, fresh, clean skin twice a day is a good start to your routine (both morning and evening). A good cleanser, for example Simple Micellar Cleansing Water, removes dirt and impurities (and makeup too!) without leaving your skin feeling tight, dry." A cleanser prepares your skin for the next steps, making other products like your moisturizer work better. Did you sleep through the alarm clock? Then quickly use a facial cleansing wipe while you make coffee. Did you have your favorite red lipstick on today? Cleansing oil will remove all makeup residue without drying out your skin. Read how to stop oily face during day .

"Whether you have 3 minutes or 15 minutes, cleansing should always be the first step of your skincare routine."

Step 2: Toner

Remove dead skin cells with a toner.

To tone or not to tone? That's a personal choice, but we like to swipe a cotton pad of toner over our skin to remove excess fat and dead skin cells (and to keep our skin happy!). It's a wonderful pick-me-up for your skin, especially if you use a toner with ingredients like witch hazel (to shrink pores) and soothing chamomile. Don't have much time? Then do this in the evening to remove the last remnants of your makeup.

Step 3: Serum and booster

Perfect when you have a little extra time . Read What are the main reasons for using skin care products with natural ingredients?

Does your skin need a little extra love? Then it's time for boosters and serums! These little skin care miracles are very targeted: they contain active ingredients to give your skin a boost and some extra love. When do you use a booster? After the cleanser (and toner), but before the moisturizer.  Need to get out the door right now? Add a little moisturizer and apply them simultaneously in those few precious minutes you have. Read also natural skin care tips for summer season.

Step 4: Moisturiser

Finish your skincare routine by moisturizing your skin.

A moisturizer (you guessed it...) protects your skin from moisture loss (leaving your skin feeling supple and firm!). And if your moisturizer isn't that good? Then your skin is likely to feel tight and dry, which can lead to blemishes as your skin tries to adjust. Look for ingredients like vitamin E, glycerin, provitamin B5, and borage seed oil. These are all excellent moisturisers for your skin. We like to warm up our moisturizer between our palms first. Then it's also very easy to apply!

Step 5: Mask and exfoliator

Pamper yourself with a face mask a few times a week

Okay, this may not fit into a daily skincare routine, but these few steps are really great when you have a little more time. And your skin will thank you! A deep cleansing clay mask is ideal if your skin is a little oily, and it also helps to shrink pores and remove impurities and dead skin cells. Read face skin care tips

What is an exfoliator?

This is an exfoliator that uses tiny particles (kind of like rice powder) to very gently remove dead skin cells from your skin, resulting in cleaner skin (remember to test the exfoliator on a small patch of skin first!). When you do this, also pay some attention to your hairline, especially on your neck and behind your ears, because skin care products can sometimes build up there. The trick? Follow this step once or twice a week and start gently, so as not to stress your skin. Your skin will soothe from it (and feel smooth and soft, too!).

What's the best way to start your daily skincare routine? Now you know! It doesn't take much time at all, and one thing is for sure: once you have the right products, it's heartbreakingly simple.
